01 · Our story

Pure water was never
a choice for me.

Binature began with a diagnosis. Founder Vitor Silva was born with a malfunctioning kidney. For him, what's in the water has never been an afterthought. The chlorine, heavy minerals and micro-particles most of us never notice were a daily risk his body couldn't afford.

“Most people choose purer water. I never had that choice, so I built the machine I needed. Then I built it for everyone else.”

So in 2012, Vitor engineered his first purification system for his own London kitchen. Friends asked for one. Then their friends did. Today, Binature machines protect thousands of homes across London and Barcelona, every one built to the same simple standard: water Vitor can drink.

02 · Why purify

Your tap water is safe.
It just isn't good.

London and Barcelona both have notoriously hard water. It's safe to drink, but it coats your kettle in limescale, tastes of chlorine and carries tiny particles from old pipes. Our machines take all of that out.

Limescale, stopped

Hard water leaves white scale on kettles, taps and boilers, shortening their lifespan and costing you in repairs. Purified water stops the buildup before it starts, so your appliances last years longer.

Chlorine-free taste

Chlorine keeps water clean on its way to you, but it leaves a taste behind. We remove it completely, so tea, coffee and cooking taste the way they should.

Microplastics, filtered

Our filters catch the tiny stuff: microplastics, rust from old pipes and traces of lead. What reaches your glass is simply clean water.

We measure your water

An engineer tests hardness, chlorine and dissolved solids at your kitchen tap and gives you a recommendation on the spot. Thirty minutes, no obligation.

Precision installation

Happy to go ahead? We book a second visit at a time that suits you and fit your machine in under an hour. No mess, no structural work.

Ongoing care

Your machine tells you when filters are due and we handle the rest. Any problem in between, call or message us and we'll visit free of charge.

06 · Questions

Before you ask.

Is tap water not already safe to drink?

It is safe. But tap water in London and Barcelona is very hard, it can taste of chlorine, and it travels through some very old pipes on the way to you. Purification removes what treatment leaves behind: limescale, taste, odour and tiny particles. The difference is something you can taste in your first glass.

What happens during the free water test?

A Binature engineer visits at a time that suits you and measures hardness, free chlorine and total dissolved solids at your kitchen tap. You'll see the readings live and get a written summary with a recommendation. It takes about thirty minutes and there's no obligation to buy anything.

How long does installation take?

Under an hour for most homes. The machine fits inside your sink cupboard and connects to a 1-way filter tap, included if you'd like one, or an optional 2 or 3-way tap. There's no structural work, and our engineers protect floors and surfaces throughout. Water is off for less than twenty minutes.

How often do filters need replacing?

It depends on your machine. On the Galileu, filters are changed once a year and the membrane every two to three years depending on your local water. On the Galileu 2.0, the composite filters are changed every six months and the membrane every eighteen months. You don't need to track any of it: the machines remind you, and these are chargeable visits we book around you. If you ever have a problem in between, just call or message us and we'll come out as soon as possible, free of charge.

Do you cover my area?

We install across all 33 London boroughs and most of the area inside the M25, and we also operate in Barcelona, where Spanish and EU customers can reach us on +34 690 34 12 61. If you're just outside either area, get in touch anyway; we regularly make exceptions.
